Disasters happen all over the United States and in all sorts of capacities. During National Preparedness Month, what better time to provide public education than now. Below are 2 major players who help the public and first responder stakeholders who are working hard to make the connections and providing best practices guidance to all levels of our communities; state, local, tribal and territorial government.
CISA ensures Public Safety and National Security and Emergency Preparedness communities can seamlessly and securely communicate during steady state and emergency operations to keep America safe, secure, and resilient.
SAFECOM was formed in 2001 after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 as part of the Presidential E-Government Initiative to improve public safety interoperability, allowing emergency responders to communicate effectively before, during, and after emergencies and disasters.
