Do You Know?

Place a hang tag on your water shut off valve.

Yikes! Water is gushing from an internal water source in your home! Do you know where your main water shutoff valve is located? Be sure to educate your family members, co-workers or tenants on how to turn off the main water shutoff in your building. This is a critical lesson to share with others, especially if you have had an experience where your dishwasher leaked or your toilet overflowed. Know what to do next.

Stopping the water is critical.  But fixing the source is just as vital.  Once you stop the water flow, assess the situation.  Make a determination if a plumber or roofer may be needed to fix the leak.  Once that is determined, than contact your insurance agent to see if filing a claim is your best course action.  There are times that customers may choose not to involve insurance and just pay out of pocket.  Ultimately that decision is made once you receive a quote for the damage cleanup.  This is when you call SERVPRO of Ravenswood.  We will come to your house, provide a free estimate for damage cleanup and speak to your insurance adjuster about appropriate action.

Be prepared and have your plumber, roofer, agent and our phone numbers ready.  Time is of the essence when water or fire damage cleanup is concerned.
