Mold Damage in a Finished Basement in Chicago, IL

This home in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago, IL had a musty smell.  After the indoor environmentalist came and took samples from around the home it was found that there was a small foundation leak.  This leak caused damages to the walls that were invisible to the eye until the baseboards were removed.  After the baseboards were removed you could see some of the mold.  There area was contained off by thick plastic and tension posts.  Negative air was done using the air scrubber.  The affected building material was removed and double bagged.  The studs were treated, cleaned and dried.  When the studs and sill plates finally measured on dry levels they were sealed with special paint that has antimicrobial in it.  The homeowner was happy that we found and taken care of the mildew smell in his home.
