Microwave fire in a Albany Park condominium
This fire was one for the books; the couple just closed on the condo two weeks prior. Most of their items was still boxed, which in this situation was a savior. They went to bed for the evening and woke up in the middle of the night to the fire alarm. They had no idea what happened until the firemen informed them that it was the microwave. They didn’t leave it on or had anything in it. This was a case that the insurance company would hold the microwave manufacturer responsible for the damages. We packed out the whole house into our warehouse. Dry-sponged and cleaned all hard items, leaving the items that were boxed still in boxes. Ozoned everything that we took from their home. The condo was dry-sponged from top to bottom, then cleaned with a special cleaner, rinsed and finally deodorized. Chard cabinetry was removed. After all equipment was picked up you couldn’t even tell there was a fire.
