Water Damage in a Condo in Buena Park, Chicago, IL
This homeowner found out that the people above her who were in the process of selling their condominium didn't properly shut the balcony door. The wind blew the door open, which opens up to the kitchen, and froze the pipes. The ice expended the pipes and in turned cracked them. When it got warmer the water in the pipes started flowing again and in turn started flowing to the unit below. Water from the neighbor above caused damage to drywall, wood flooring and ceiling. The wet drywall had to be removed due to it being attached directly to cinder blocks, which also had to be dried.
