Recessed Lighting Fire in Ukraine Village in Chicago, IL

This fire in a Ukraine Village in Chicago, IL started from a can light in the ceiling.  The smoke and soot affected most of the house.  There was also structural damage done to the home.  SERVPRO had to subcontract out a structural engineer to assess the damage and figure out how to make the structure safe again.  We had a work crew at the house cleaning all the surfaces and items.  SERVPRO also cleaned and deodorized the ceiling cavity preparing it for the new beam.  New beam was installed to the damaged area and inspected by the city.  Afterwards it was dry walled and painted.  The project took a bit longer because of all the entities that had to coordinate together.
