Biohazard clean up in Rogers Park Neighborhood
The circumstances to the situation was not known, except that the individual that passed away had an infectious disease. After the apartment was released by the Chicago Police Department the landlord gave us a call to help him clean up and empty the apartment. A company that deals with disposal of items affected by blood borne pathogens had to be called for the pickup of debris that was affected. The crew had to have full personal protective equipment and the door had to be sealed with a containment barrier. The whole place was scrubbed, cleaned and disinfected with a hospital grade cleaner. Blood affected items where packed in special red bags that at the end of the day the subcontractor came to pick up. Other items where disposed off and the apartment was left as if nothing ever happened.
